How can you go wrong with an album inspired by vintage Italian film scores? The fact that it took these guys 5 years to produce only compliments the laid back melodic transitions from track to track. Heck, why not take 10 years if you’re on the Italian Riveria making an album. In one of the teasers leading up to the release in March of 2011, Danger Mouse and Daniel Luppi are shown shopping for vintage instruments proving this is a true throw back album in every sense of the word. Detroit born Jack White of The White Stripes/Raconteurs and Norah Jones were brought on for the vocals and it’s one of those albums that should be listened to from start to finish. My favorite tracks are 4. Seasons Trees (feat. Norah Jones) and the instrumental jam 8. The Gambling Priest.
Thats the jam, thats the joint.
